Welcome to the Geometry Vocabulary Page. Below is a list of vocabulary terms that are important to understand Geometry. Along with each vocabulary word is a picture that further explains the definition. Look out for more words being added to this list as the school year continues.
Vocabulary
1. Angle: the space within two lines or three or more planes diverging from a common point, or within two planes diverging from a common line.
Ex:
2. Acute Angle: An angle whose measure is between O degrees and 90 degrees.
Ex:
3. Obtuse Angle: An angle greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees.
Ex:
4. Right Angle: An angle formed by two perpendicular lines that intersect; and angle of 90 degrees.
Ex:
5. Congruent: Exactly equal in size and shape; congruent sides or segments have the exact same length
