Welcome to the Data Analysis and Propability Vocabulary Page. Below is a list of vocabulary terms that are important to understand Data Analysis and Propability. Along with each vocabulary word is a picture that further explains the definition. Look out for more words being added to this list as the school year continues.
Vocabulary
1. Outcome: A single, specific possible result of an experiment.
Ex:
2. Quintiles: In a frequency distribution, one of the values of a variable that divides the distribution of the variable into four groups having equal frequencies.

3. Correlation: The degree to which two or more attributes or measurements on the same group element show a tendency to vary together.
Ex:
4. Average: A quantity or rating that represents or approximates an arithmetic mean; as typical amount, rate, or degree; also called the Mean.

5. Probability: The relative possibility that an event will occur, as expressed by the ratio of the number of actual occurrences to the total number of possible occurrences.
